Mischief!!

Posted by Picasa

Isabella loves to play with everything that is not considered a toy. We have to watch her like a hawk because she is into everything. She has quickly learned the word No, but thinks we are playing a game with her. Another post on this later.

On Monday we were both in the kitchen and I was making myself some lunch and she was playing with the pantry door and banging on the box behind her. She was doing good and all of a sudden I here something fall to the ground I turn around and she has pulled the suran wrap box. I quickly went to get the camera and by the time I got back that girl already had the roll out and was unraveling it.

These are the things that keep us on our toes!

Big Girl Bath

Isabella has ditched the baby tub! She was getting way to big for it and was trying to crawl out of it herself to explore the extra space in the tub that she wasn't getting to use. She has taken a liking to Elmo so we found this bath mat at Baby's R'Us that covers most of the bottom so she won't slip, but she just loves to touch the characters. Here are a few pics. There is a video of her having a good time splashing. She has never splashed so much in the water before, but she was quite excited. Since she was moving so much I could not keep the video PG. So just imagine her screaming, giggling and splashing! I love the last pic she looks so cute. I wonder what she was thinking at that moment?

Snoop Love!

Some people have complained that we don't give snoop any love on this blog. So here is a blog to show our love for snoop.

Snoop has actually adjusted quiet well to Isabella. He loves her and she loves him. She is always on the look out for him and will crack up laughing when she finds him. We actually have to watch Snoop sometimes because he wants to lick her to death. She likes to have her feet licked and can often be found trying to catch his tongue as he licks her hands. Don't worry we always wash her hands afterwards.

He is now actually loving her even more because she is starting to eat more solids and snacks and of course whatever she drops snoop is ready to clean up! Who needs a hoover when you got a snooper!

So I hope you enjoyed snoops post. I will try to do more of them together. I tried looking for some video, but it is getting late.

Texas Bluebonnets

So for those you who do not know because you do not live in Texas, It is bluebonnet season. One of the traditions is to take your baby/child to take pictures in the bluebonnets. Even though neither one of us are original Texans we have lived here most of our lives so of course we partook in the tradition.

Here are some of our or should I say my favorites....

It's good to be home!

Ok, so I wrote this post about a week ago on my phone while traveling for work and then my phone decided it was not going to allow me to send it ever!!! So here is take two; typically I would have given up on it and said forget about it, but this has to be said!

So about two weeks ago, I had to leave my two girls to go on a business trip for a full week!!! It felt like forever because I left Sunday early and didn't return until past midnight on Saturday. Actually what really made it hard is that it was my first time away from Jessica and Isabella since Isabella was born.

Traveling from state to state visiting customers (NY to Connecticut to Massachusetts to Pennsylvania to Ohio) really kept me busy but in the back of my mind I missed Jessica and Isabella a lot. I was worried that Isabella would forget me. I mean she already has a preference for mommy, but I thought this would make it so much worse.

Regardless, what I got most out of the week is a deeper appreciation for Jessica. She was super mom and wife this week. She had to pull all shifts with a 8 month old baby who just started terrorizing the house with her new found skill of crawling, cruising, standing up, etc. At the same time, Jess had to get up extra early to get Isabella to day care (my usual job) at 7am!!!! This was the only way so she could make it to work by 7:30. On top of all this, Jessica kept my spirits up as we spoke on the phone and even went as far as giving me a pep talk to help do my best in front of customers.

I'm so thankful!! Special thanks to George and Scarlet for opening their house to my girls for dinner while I was out. Also special thanks to our awesome neighbors Cameron and Tabatha for also inviting Jess and Isa for dinner. Knowing that we had good friends around made me feel comfortable that they were safe.

So now to the finale, on Saturday morning I ran into Isabella's room even before she woke up. I waited and then she peeked and saw me. She sat up and she gave me the funniest "who are you look?" for 3 seconds and then she got to her feet reached to be picked up and held on to me for a while. It was a nice way to come home! Since then I feel like her and I have developed a deeper bond.

Now only if I could keep her from sprinting over to the fireplace, "ISA!!!!"

Don't forget to read Jessica's awesome post on Easter below. I didn't want to steal her thunder since she just posted it today.

Easter Fun!

This Easter was especially special because it was Isabella's first. We love celebrating each new holiday with her and creating precious memories and traditions.

My family was in town including my nephew, niece and step nephew. My sisters, Eddie and I had a blast making it special for them . We started out on Saturday with an egg hunt. We let Isa go out and stand next to one of the flowers beds where eggs were sitting to see if she would pick any up and put them in her basket. I showed her how to put one in her basket and she got it. She quickly started cruising along the wall and putting eggs in her basket. That girl was smart she picked all the ones with money. HAHA! Of course the older kids were not happy because they were chopping at the bit to get started, but they waited for her to get a few eggs and they were off. We followed that with the dying of eggs inside. Isabella took this time to nap since we figured if she were to dye eggs she her self would probably have came out looking like an Easter egg.

While we were all busy having our Easter fun, Mom was in the kitchen cooking up her famous Gumbo, that we later enjoyed. It was so good! So much so that my sister Kat and I got into an argument about who was going to keep the leftovers. I won of course since she lives within minutes of my mother and Mom agreed that she would make Gumbo whenever Kat asked.

Later that night we tried like crazy to get the kids to go down to sleep, but they were so
excited for the Easter Bunny to come their little eyelids would not close. When they eventually fell asleep all the adults gathered in the room and started filling baskets. Man it was like Christmas all over again. Those kids definitely racked up on the Easter treats.

The next morning was followed by worshiping our risen Lord at church. We then came home to a feast of ham and fixings. Afterwards is when the adults joined in the fun! The sun had come out to make for the perfect conditions for cascarones(confetti eggs). The smashing began and there was confetti everywhere!

All in all everyone agreed that this was the best Easter ever and we couldn't wait to do it all over again next year!

These are just a few of my favorite pictures of Isabella from the weekend. I will post a link to the rest of them later. There are just so many good ones!
