On our last trip to Alvin we took the kids to the new Houston Children's Museum. It was awesome! I really recommend it to anyone. They have something for everyone including an entire floor dedicated to babies and toddlers. Isa had a blast as did everyone else. Although the trip was highlighted by Isa's eating antics. As I have told you before whenever Isa does not want to eat or does not like what you put in her mouth she gags until she makes herself vomit. Lets just say when this happens in public it is not fun and yes this is one of those times. It was a mess and everyone at the snack bar was staring at us. Later that day I guess a man that was in the snack bar saw us and said, "She sure looks like she's feeling better." It was hard to explain that she was not sick, but her way of telling us she does not like something. Ed and I have gotten really good and noticing the signs and preparing ourselves. Lets just say that we love the bibs with big pockets.
Anyway enough about that. I am sure you are totally grossed out by now. That was not the only event of the trip. We ended it in style with a trip to the ER the next morning. Sunday morning I was up bright and early with Isabella and after she had eaten I was changing her diaper and noticed on her belly she had these tiny red welps I proceeded to look down at her legs and her legs were covered also. At that time my mom walked out and I called her over. We both looked at it confused not sure what to think. She seemed to be ok and was breathing ok so I thought well, if there still there tomorrow I will call the doctor. At that time her belly and legs were the only place she had them. Well in a matter of about 5 minutes of playing all of a sudden her hands had hives they had spread up her side to her arms and hands. This was spreading fast. All in all we took her in and they said it looked like a allergic reaction to something, but Ed and I could not think of what it could be. The doc said most of the time you have no idea what it was. The only weird thing is they were not itchy. We gave her some Benadryl which seemed to help and followed up with our doc the next morning. She confirmed the same and they went away. She has not had any after that. So knock on wood she won't!
It was an eventful trip, but glad that we got the time to spend with family. Here are some pics of our time at the museum.
