Yeah Christmas! Good food and fun.

Merry Christmas!!! We had a rocking day here at home with my parents visiting. It all started off with opening gifts and then Jessica preparing a wonderful french toast breakfast casserole. So yummy, Isabella ate it up and then was found laying on her new Backyardigans chair (thanks George, Scarlet and boys). Funny she was rubbing her belly and picking on her belly button (see video).

We pretty much just chilled at the house playing with new toys and keeping our bellies full. Isabella was being hilarious, check out this video of her running. Jess told me they practice "ready, set, go!" at school. I did not know I had a child preparing for the olympics.

Last, but not least we had a wonderful dinner with all the works and ended it with some singing of "Feliz Navidad" with Isabella dancing! Next Dancing with the Stars?

We truly hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that the Lord bless you this coming New Year!

Shapes and blocks, oh what fun!

Isabella's been sick this entire week, yuck! The good thing about it is that I have gotten the chance to hang out with her as I am now officially on vacation for the rest of the year. Well not really vacation with a sick kid if you know what I mean. Regardless, we have had lots of fun moments that I wanted to share.

Isabella absolutely loves to play with her shapes and has become very good at recognizing them and fitting them in the box. If you listen to the video she can say "circle" (english) or "circulo" (spanish) and "ella" for estrella which means star in spanish. Triangle (Triangulo) is close, but sounds a lot like circle.

Now this one is hilarious (well maybe at least to me). Isabella loves to build tall structures from her blocks. I swear she makes it a goal to build them at least her height. In this video she does just that, but I am cracking up because she has no fear of it falling as poor of a structure as it might be. Maybe we have an architect in the making. Oh and mid-way she decides she wants to throw the ball to me too! I had to edit the end of this video as Isabella decides to work on another project (aka poop!)

Last, but not least! All I can say about this last video is "Baila!"

Isa’s 1st haircut

Today we took Isabella to get her very 1st haircut. Waking her up in the mornings reminded me of cousin Itt from the Adam’s Family since I could not find her eyes! She has been blessed with a full head of hair since birth, but it was different lengths throughout and needed a trim. Our good friend and stylist Kelly who cuts all our hairs did it at her salon.  She did great! It helped that we brought her DVD player, but she did not fuss one bit. Check her out!

Animal sounds and much more, super cute!

Hey everyone, so I know Jess and I are very bad about updating the blog; but we think we have a few good posts to make up for our absence. Isabella is super cute and growing so fast! One of the cutest things she does right now is imitate animal sounds. We have so much fun asking her in Spanish:

- “Como le hace le chango?” which means “What sound does the monkey make?” She is super cute with her noises and she even lifts her hands over her chest and head.

- “Como le hace el leon?” which means “What sound does the lion make?” She responds with a single “roar”.

- “Como le hace le perro?” which means “What sound does the dog make?” She responds with several barks. Super CUTE!!!

We are really proud of her! Some other neat things that she has picked up:

- Isabella can point to most of her body parts when we ask her and she always claps at all her accomplishments!

- Isabella loves to flip the light switch or close the garage.

- Isabella loves to feed her doggie Snoop which she calls “Noop Noop" or something like that.  Oh and also terrorize him by chasing her around the house with her baby stroller.

- Some words Isabella uses are Momma, Papa, Yogurt, Agua, Cracker, and Bye! And her favorite at the moment is “Oh No!!” Cracks us up every time.

- Isabella loves to wave and blow kisses!

- Isabella loves to color and play with her blocks! Building tall structures. However she really isn’t into her stuffed animals.

- Isabella loves to kick the soccer ball and slam dunk her basketball.

- Isabella loves shoes! She passes up any toy for some pretty shoes! Just like her momma.

Caught red handed!

I know I just posted about the Halloween party, but this one deserved a post all it's own. I was looking through the pictures and came across this series. I never even knew this happened. I wonder if the man behind the camera new it was happening. Probably not! I am not sure Amanda will let Isa ever play with Haley again. Lets just say Isa was not playing nice. Don't worry Isa will be getting a firm talking to :)

Playing nice...

Ooh a bat!

Don't touch that bat or I'll wack you!

Give me that....

Whack...I warned you!

Halloween Sneak Peek

Isa enjoyed her first Halloween party of the season last weekend. Amanda's oldest daughter was born on my birthday, so we headed down to Alvin for the weekend to help her celebrate. Here are the pictures from the party.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday. I had a low key weekend with a few friends and family. My Aunt from New Orleans flew in to help us celebrate. It was great to have her here. Ed really wanted to bake me a cake for my birthday, so with a little assistance from my Aunt he made me the best pumpkin role. It had all my favorites. pumpkin, heathbar and rum.Yum!

My new toy

On a recent trip to Costoc we came across these tents and tunnels. We thought Isa might enjoy them so we had to get them. Here she is enjoying them. She likes to read inside the tent. So cute!

Pumpkin Patch

A couple of weeks ago. Amanda came into town with the girls. It rained off and on all weekend, but we decided to brave it and head to Marble Falls to the pumpkin patch there. All the girls had a blast. I love watching Isa hang out with Haley. They are so cute together. I am happy that they are so close in age. I hope that they will be great friends like Amanda and I. The only bummer is we don't live closer.
One other thing to note in this post., Amanda is now expecting her third. I wonder if it will be another girl??? I think we need some testosterone to ground these little divas. Haha!

Coloring

Isa loves to sit down and color. She is getting pretty good at sitting down with us and doing it. Towards the end she decides she wants to dump all the crayons but it is not until she gets up and tries to color on the coffee table that it is time to clean up. : )

Hook Em'

So this is the third game of the season, but for one reason or another we have not been able to get together for a family picture in all of our gear. So today before our good friends Jessica and Jamie left we had them snap a few. Our little longhorn has grown up so much! The first pick is from last season you can compare the difference. Wow!

The Park

Now that it is not over a hundred degrees we have been taking Isa to the park that is down the street from our house. She loves being outside so this is a real treat for her. The park is very accessible to her she can walk up the ramps and slide down all the slides. She has a blast. She even loves just sitting in the rocks and playing with them in her hands. You have to watch her though because she will try and sneak on into her mouth.

Check out the pictures of one of our trips!

Isa's new chair

Isabella loves to sit on things so, when we came across this beanbag on a trip to Target we decided to try it out. She loves watching her Backyardigans from this chair.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor day weekend we went to Brownsville to celebrate Ed's Mom's birthday. We took another trip to the beach with Isa. She enjoyed it for a bit but quickly got sleepy and crashed on the sand. It was so cute! Check out link below:

First day of school!

Well this was not Isa's first day, but this was her first day to wear a uniform and the first day for Daddy to fix her hair in the morning. I thought she looked really cute. Ed was not proud of his hair do, but I thought it was pretty good for someone who has never done ponytails before.

It was my first day of school and Ed wanted to snap my picture before I walked out the door. Check out my new lunch bag!

Last Day of summer!!

The last week I had off before school Isa and I went to the pool. All summer we had been going, but it had been a while since we had been. Previously she loved playing in the water. This time she lept pointing to something out of the water. I finally gave in and took her out. I set her down and she walked back to the loung chair and proceeded to climb in to the seat. The entire time we were there all she wanted to do was sit, eat cheerios and watch all the people swiming. If I tried to pick her up to take her back to the pool she would proceed to pitch a fit. So I indulged her and we sat and watched. Every once in a while she would giggle and smile. I guess she saw something that she thought was funny. She is definetly my daughter! I love to people watch also!
