Ahhh Spring!

I wrote this post last Monday, but forgot to post. Oh well, better late than never!

This past week was Spring Break for me and Eddie took his mandatory time off so he was home with Isa and I. We also picked Rachel(my youngest sister) up from Alvin and she spent the week with us. That added to the beautiful weather, it was a blissful break.

We did a lot around the outside of the house and a few things inside. We cleaned the garage, Ed washed my car, I planted some yellow lillies in the front flower beds and we created a picture wall with our favrite pics of Isabella. We even took a day trip to the historic town of Fredricksburge and did a little window shopping.

Even Isa seemed to be in full bloom. Ever since she started crawling she is all over the place. She has now started pulling up on EVERYTHING! She can even take steps along the coffee table, except she doesn't know what to do when she gets to the corner. She is not sure how to turn. I suspect that it won't be long before she figures it out.

Also to note, Although Isa had been happy as a lark during the day she was suffering at night with her first ear infection. If you remember back two weeks ago Isa came down with a cold on Ed's birthday and had just been having a lot of congestion since then. She never ran any fever and was sleeping ok until about Tuesday night she started waking up crying several times a night just not wanting to go back to bed. Since she has always been a good sleeper I decided to take her to the doctor because I was worried that the congestion was causing her to get an ear infection and I was right. They put her on antibotics and after a day and a half she was sleeping much better. The doctor even noted that she was doing pretty good to have just gotten her first ear infection at 8 months(Wow! can't believe she is already 8 months were has the time gone).

Again we had a super restful and sunny Spring Break and I was sad to see it end and for Rachel to leave. She got some good quality time with Isa and even started reaching out to Rachel to be held which is shoking since she is such a mommy and daddy's girl.

Oh well, summer is just around the corner...

Isa pictures framed and ready to hang. We actually took
this picture so we could remember the configuration that
we decided on. I guess I never took a picture of the final
product.

Going to alvin...

Papi got tired of driving so I took over!

We have a crawler!!

Oh so many days of being frustrated and wanting to just move, but only being able to go backwards not towards the item she really wanted to get has finally paid off!

Yesterday, when I picked Isa up at day care they had told me she had moved from one end to another, but I did not realize that they meant by crawling.

Last night after her bath Ed and I were playing with her in her room , well Ed was doing most of the playing I was actually packing her stuff for Alvin. She realized she wanted Mommy. Got up on her knees and slowly started crawling towards me. Of course I backed up so I could see her crawl more, poor baby, this frustrated her. So I picked her up and we celebrated.

Ed went to get the camera so we could get it on film and of course we had a hard time convincing her to do it for an audience. Every time Ed would give up he would turn the camera off and of course she would start crawling. Then he would turn it back on and she would stop. I think we got enough for you to see.

We are relieved because she crawled before she walked. I say this because she is already pulling up and can take small steps holding on to stuff. Which everyone told us was bad. So I suspect it won't be long before we have a cruiser. For all who don't know that is walking around while holding onto things. This happens just before they walk.

Stay tuned!!

Shopping episode II..

In previous post we have talked about Isa picking up on her mommy's love for shopping last night was no different. We went to get Isa an Easter dress and on the way out she was so proud of her dress she insisted on carrying it out of the mall. Here is a shot of her clutching the bag.

Bath time!

Isa got so many bath robes from different people as gifts. She is just recently big enough to wear them so last night I took one out and put it on her. Here is a pick of her in her ducky bath robe.

Our little noise maker!

Yesterday at dinner Isa started making this smacking noise with her tongue. She was doing over and over. It was super adorable. I caught the initial time of her doing it on my cell phone video, but that does not work when I post it on here.
So we had to wait until we got home. Last night after her bath we got her to do it a little bit on the video camera. You can hear us trying to coax her into doing it. She did not do it as much as she did at dinner, but you can see a glimpse of it. It is so funny that I am super proud that she has learned to do this. The things parents will get excited over...

Fun Playing

Here are some pics of Isa playing.

Saturday I cleaned up the gardens a little and while I did that Isa got a little time to play outside with Papi.

She loves playing outside. She likes to touch things and feel them. These pictures she is sitting on a blanket, but usually she likes just to sit on the grass and touch it and hold the leaves in her hand. Most babies would take the leaves straight to their mouth, but she will usually just hold it and examine it. She will eventually try to put it in her mouth, but we watch her very closely.

The other pictures she is playing in her room, while Ed is lowering her bed. We had to do this because our little girl is growing up. She has learned to pull herself up and she can look over her crib rail.

After one of her naps on Saturday she quietly sat up in her bed and pulled herself up to the rail. When Ed went to look at the monitor she was not there. He quickly went into check on her and there she was standing at the rail, all smiles. She was sneaky. So needles to say we dropped her mattress right away.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Friday, Feb.27th, Ed turned the big 3-0! We had lots of family and friends in town, so Isabella got lots of play time and she did pretty well with all the handling. We got very scared Friday morning we were going to have to cancel the barbecue Saturday because Isabella woke up in the morning and decided to give us a surprise.

That Friday Ed and I had both taken the day off. Ed took it just because he never takes his birthday off and decided this was the best time to do it and enjoy his day. I took it off because I had many many things to do to get ready for the party. Well, I decided to be a sweet wife and even though it was not my turn I decided to wake up with Isabella that morning and let Ed sleep in for his birthday. So I quietly got up and went and got Isa. I picked her up out of her bed and she was all smiles, happy and talking. We were talking with each other back and forth while I made her bottle. I was carrying her to the couch to sit down and feed her when she started gagging like she was going to throw up, but only a little spit came out because her stomach was empty. She still looked very happy so I went in the room and discussed it with Ed and he said it was probably just the way I was carrying her and she was fine. Ok, great! Her and I go and sit down on the couch and she downs her bottle while watching baby einstein. When she was finished she just hung out in my lap while she watched her video. Not unusual because she loves her videos and watches them very intently. Then it happened.....She Threw up all over me. I immediately started calling Ed and he came and helped me clean up.

I was completely surprised. She still looked happy just smiling at me like she was feeling ok but I decided I couldn't send her to the daycare, so my plans completely changed my day would now consist of taking care of Isa and not running errands.
Oh well that comes with the job I guess.

We made the best of it and she was actually fine the rest of the day ate her solids and drank the rest of her bottles. She was congested that morning and has been known to throw up when she is to congested and the congestion upsets her stomach. So I think that was the case.

So the party when on as planned and thanks to my sister Kat who surprised me by showing up unexpected with my other sister Nicole I got everything done with their help. Kat was like a work horse and I owe her for the success of the party and especially for the 40 cupcakes I was able to finish icing with her help. Which by the way was a big hit at the party.

Also, since I was really busy Saturday Isa got to attend her Gymboree class with Grandma and Grandpa Montanez. She had fun flying the plane with Grandma.

Below is a link to pictures from the party. There are too many good ones to post here.
