Valentines Weekend

We had a wonderful Valentines weekend. Isabella's Daycare was closed Friday and Monday so, we got a long four day weekend with her. We took advantage of just having a good time with her. We feel like she is growing up so fast we don't know were the time has gone.

She is trying really hard to crawl, but for right now her only movement is backward. She loves to sit up and play and it is amazing how much she can get around by scooting on her bottom. We laugh because we put her in one place and before you know she is in another completly different place still sitting up on her bottom. She definitely wants to move and get around.

Saturday, as a Valentines treat for her, we decided to view one of the Gymboree play groups for her age. She loved it and we loved seeing the smile on her face we just had to sign up. She will be going once a week with other kids her age. They have all sorts of things to get her moving and of course lots of fun little songs. We are really looking forward to having this time with her every week. Below are some pictures that we took. We had some trouble with the videos before being distorted, but we figure it out that it was doing it only with the videos that we took with our phone. The one below works!

Relaxing weekdend that ended with a bang!

We had a fun weekend. My nephew and my sister Nicole came into town. We just had fun relaxing and hanging out. We also bought Isabella a high chair. She has really started eating solids regularly three times a day and we were feeding her in her bouncy chair, but that girl can move. She is so funny sometimes. So, needless to say we were having a hard time keeping the boppy seat clean. We also needed something that would sit her up better because God forbid she be laying back just the slightest bit she might miss something. She loves to sit and watch the world go by. She is so observant like her Mommy!
I fed her in it for the first time this morning. She ate like a champ. I am so glad we got it. Below are some pics of her eating this morning, but before I get to that I have to tell you about my crazy trip to target.

I went to target to get a few things including Valentines cards for Isa to take to school. Yeah you got it. Her teacher told me she needed to bring 8 valentines cards. I was like, "What, are you kidding me? Valentines cards for children under the age of 1! I have heard of some crazy things, but that is just nuts!" Anyways after I picked out some pooh and friends cards. I am looking around and I over hear a conversation that goes like this.

Woman: Hey! How is it going?
Man: Good have not seen you in a long time. How are the boys?
Woman: The boys are now two. Hey say hello to Govenor Perry!

I stopped and froze looked over and sure enough it was the Govenor of Texas shopping in my target! Go figure. Well earlier in that trip I had run into the counselor from my school in the valentines isle. I quickly run over to her and say guess who is over there you have to take a picture of us. So I go over to him and introduce my self as a teacher and tell him my students would just love it if I could show them a picture of him with me. He was super nice and said Sure! Then being the politician he is, shook my hand and asked me my name. I told him my name and you should have seen his face when this white girl spit out "Montanez " in a perfect accent. He then repeated it and I said yes Montanez. Then he told me that he appreciated everything that I do. Haha I thanked him and walked away totally awstruck. Now thinking about it I wish I would have said thank you because I definetly don't do it for the money and asked for a raise! Now that would have been a knee slapper.

Thank you Michelle, for taking the pciture and and giving me the courage to go over to him. That was totally out of the box for me. Ed was surprised I did it. My hubby knows me way to well!

So below is also the picture I took with Governor Rick Perry! We were both sporting weekend clothes. Too bad he's an Aggie! Haha!

January '09 Rewind!!!

Ok, so Ed and I have been truly delinquent in posting since we kicked in the new year!! Funny enough it is not because there has not been much to blog about, it's been probably the busiest, craziest month since Isabella was born. Yup, so here is a glimpse at our January! Below are some pictures with our highlights and Isabella's milestones in January....

Isabella meets her Hogan and Hymel great grandparents during her first trip to New Orleans! Here is Jessica and Isa at the Hymel den.

Isabella meets family from Mexico (all 10 of them) and her cousin Emilio (just a few weeks younger) . And yes, they all stayed in our house, plus my parents, Adrian, and Tess. :-)

Isabella sits to eat and play in high chair! Goodbye carseat at restaurants!!

Isabella realizes solids aren't so bad!

Isabella has her first big girl bath!

Isabella loves grocery shopping with Mom at HEB!

Mom does not know when to stop, shops till she drops!

Isabella catches her first stomach bug, not a good week. We had our first trip to the ER because she was very dehydrated. To make less of the situation, Isa makes a fool out of us by laughing and playing in the waiting room after a day of her being so weak. Then when doctor has her take pedialyte which we tried and tried at home with no luck, she loves it. Girl has expensive taste.

Isabella parties Mu Epsilon Theta style in our annual reunion with 16 of our best friends. And yes, they also crashed at our house. :-)

Isabella turns 6 months! Clean bill or health. Thank God!! Here is a video of her playing with a toy she got for Christmas. She can sit really well now and enjoys to play.

Isabella enjoys visiting the park, wee!! We visited Dick Nicholls Park and South Park Meadows playground.

Isabella gets her first tooth!

Isabella dances at school!

And the fun continues.....here is the first photo of Feb 2009!

Gifts, Gifts, and more Gifts!

Funny how we had less people at the house this Christmas, but the tree was twice as covered by colorful Christmas gifts. I wonder why? Haha...our baby girl is spoiled. She got lots of books, toys, and clothes. Jessica and I were pleasantly surprised how much she enjoyed opening gifts. I think kids have an instinct for Christmas and gifts. Isabella was quick to tug on bows and rip on wrapping paper (and try to eat it too). She was very excited....ok not so perfect. She got cranky after 20 minutes. We hope everyone was blessed this Christmas.

Amo a mis Abuelitos

Isabella "loves her grandparents"!!! Two weekends in a row Isa has been spoiled by her abuelitos/grandparents. First weekend she was cared for by the Hogan grandparents. This weekend she has been cared for by the Montanez abuelitos. Isa has been so thrilled by the laughs and love they give her. Isa had christmas picture photoshoots both weekends. See the pics of her enjoying the time with her grandparents.

Mommy's favorite activity: Shopping!

I surrendered to joining Jessica and Isabella at the mall. It is Christmas, time for gifts and music right? Well I'll tell you I was ok for about 30 minutes and then I wanted to get out of there. Tell you what...playing with Isa made it easier. There are just soooooo many people. I took advantage and took many pictures and let the last photo be testament that even Isa was crying to mommy, "let's go home!!". We are home now...ahhhh

By the way even Isa was picking out clothes, she thought if she licked that baby sweater she could take it home (See pic). Papi said, "No baby no".

Have a good hump day.
