It's been to long!

I know we have been MIA since April. Things around that time got extremely busy! I am going to try to catch up a little with a few pictures from some major events that have happened since then. Hopefully I can get back on the ball and post at least once a month. I am setting that goal because it is realistic. Haha! We will see.

Budding Artist

Isabella really loves doing art projects. I have mentioned before she loves to color on her easel. She has added painting and gluing torn paper to the her crafting experiences.
I thought I had a picture of her doing the torn paper, but I guess I don't. I basically draw a shape on paper and put glue on the inside of the shape. Then I tear some paper and she places the paper inside the shapes.
We are going to need to come up with some other ideas because she is starting to request to do crafts of some sort as soon as we come home from school. It is also great because she is occupied while I cook dinner. Maybe we will try gluing some macaroni next.

Happy Birthday Papi!

Last Saturday was Ed's birthday. He turned the big 31, man that's old. Shhh, don't tell him I said that, but if you look close you can see a few gray hairs. Which if you ask him he will tell you they are a from his two girls, but there really there from old age.

We had a blast that day! Our great friends Byron and Janelle were getting married that evening in Houston. Isa Stayed with her grandparents in Alvin and Ed and I celebrated the entire day. We started with a toast at Cheesecake Factory and then headed to the hotel to meet with some friends and off to the wedding were we partied till 2 am. We even got to sleep in the next day till 10:30am. We didn't know what to do with all the energy! Of course we rushed back to my parents because as much as we love dancing till dawn and sleeping in we love our Isa more!

ELMO!

A few weekends ago we took Isa to see Sesame Street Live. We knew that she loved Elmo so we thought it would be a hit. Plus I have wonderful childhood memories of my parent taking my older sister and I to see Sesame Street Live when I was a kid. She had a blast. She was so into the show and when Elmo would come out she would point her finger and exclaim, "ELMO!" She danced, clapped and had a good time!

On of many times we saw Elmo

Happy Valentines!

We are not big Valentines people, but we had few errands to run at the mall so we dined at the Nordstrom Cafe. Isa was a little cranky so on one of Ed's trips walking her around while I finished my lunch Isa discovered Build a Bear. With a promise to come back, Ed came and got me and we decided to have her build a stuffed animal.

We let Isa look at all the options. We'd ask her if she wanted this one or that one and her reply was, "No, No" Until Ed held up a dog, she grabbed it out of his hand and started kissing it. We knew she had found the one.

She went through the process and did really well. We were really surprised that she did all of this. She is not a big stuffed animal fan, but was all about this dog. It was so fun watching her smile as she stuffed her dog and kissed the heart before they sewed him up. She even got in the tub to wash the dog, haha!

Who Dat say they gonna beat dem Saints?

The Saints are Super Bowl champions and nothing could make me and my family prouder!

We started off the weekend with a visit to Houston to spend a little time with my family. I wish I had not forgotten the camera, but we had a good time. Saturday we went to Herman park and had a little fun riding the train and playing on the playground. If any of you remember my last experience with a train at Zilker park where I lost my wallet, we had to top that. Ed not only lost his wallet, but Isa also lost a shoe. All were found thanks to the lady behind us who returned Ed's wallet. Finding the shoe was a little harder. We had to walk the train tracks because we had no idea where it had fallen off. Ed finally found it just as he was about to run out of track. While Ed looked for it, I had to endure lots of bad mommy looks while I let Isa play on the playground in her socks. I couldn't expect her to sit in her stroller while her cousins got to play. So I decided since the ground of the play area was turf it would not be that bad. She had a good time and about half way through playing Papi returned with her shoe. Yeah for Papi!

Sunday we left bright and early to prepare for our party, but not before I posed for a pic with my sister in all of our Saints apparel.

For the party I made Fluer de Lis cookies.

Here we are posing as a group. I had asked everyone to wear black and I gave everyone black and gold Mardi Gras beads as they entered the house.

Here is Jess and Jamie enjoying the game.

Here are Ed and I. Notice I am trying to cover up the logo on his hat. I should have banned him from the party since I had just found out the he donated his Saints hat to Goodwill the week before. What's up with that? At least it wasn't a Colts hat!

Tess and Adrian

Me saying. "Of Course they were going to win! Who Dat Baby!"

At last here is Isa saying Who Dat!

18 months

Isabella is 18months now. It is hard to believe that she will be 2 in just 6 short months. The time has flown and she is growing up way to fast. The amount that she learns in a day and the new things she shows us she can do grows at lighting speed.

I am soo happy that she is a happy child. Today I had the joy of spending the whole day with her just me and her. We read Dora books, drew together, played tea and many other things. You should have seen the living room when we were done. I was engrossed with her. There are not many days that I get to just be with her and not think about anything else. Today was a blast!

Here are some pics and videos from our day:
